Job Description
Job Title: Nurse Manager
Department / Location: Reachout Women's Center / Tucson, AZ Exempt Status: Non Exempt
The Employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, “…Live in a manner worthy of the call you have received.” (Eph. 4:1)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and support the unique Catholic Mission of the School by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. The employee may not espouse, in word or deed, any doctrine inconsistent with the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • Give evidence of living Gospel values by being an active member of a faith community and being open to the importance of a personal faith journey; strive to model the teaching of Jesus by attitude and example.
  • Manage the RWC nursing staff schedule to make sure there is coverage for all shifts and vacations.
  • Maintain and record annual TB testing results of direct care providers.
  • Order inventory supplies and track consumption of ultrasound gel, drapes, prenatal vitamins, and all other.
  • Follow up for undecided clients. Provide counseling for adoption, alternative parenting, and vulnerable clients.
  • Available for: ultrasounds on demand; diagnostics for fetal viability; intrauterine pregnancy; and estimated gestational age.
  • Direct client advocacy.
  • Provide and track pregnancy test verifications and ultrasounds and statistics of such.
  • Verify that all ultrasound reports are entered in Ekyros correctly and saved to network server.
  • Distribute and track prenatal vitamins.
  • Follow up with all clients sent to the emergency room.
  • Run and provide monthly reports on: ultrasounds given; prenatal vitamins distributed; pregnancy tests done; verifications given to insurance companies; confirmations provided to OB providers; and the number of mothers that were abortion vulnerable who changed their mind.
  • Maintain and follow HIPAA guidelines on all clients.
  • Understand the use and implementation of appropriate PPE and infection control standards.
  • Provide referrals for counseling, social services, and adoption information for clients.
  • Maintain and record Arizona licensing requirements for all nurses and physicians at facility.
  • Work with director to organize and provide appropriate continuing education for nurses and physicians annually.
  • Maintain medical area and equipment functions including sterilizing all ultrasound probes. Maintain records on sterilizing solution, including the changing of solution as recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Maintain all medical files on clients as applicable by law.
  • Schedule the pickup of hazardous waste and maintain the supply of red bags.
  • Direct and facilitate any nursing or medical students if present.
  • Confirm and schedule appointments for clients.
  • Belief in the sanctity of life.
  • Perform other nonmedical duties as assigned.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Requires coordination and manual dexterity, normal mental and visual ability; ability to lift as required in a normal office environment.
Required Activities: Walking; sitting; standing; stooping; reaching; talking; handling; hearing; carrying; and keyboarding.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Must have proven nursing process experience including the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate the client outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize, analyze and solve problems, a working knowledge of operational processes.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet constantly changing client workloads and volunteer schedule.
  • Technology proficient with the ability to interact with client databases, and information technology including Microsoft Office software.
  • Excellent communications skills including written, verbal and counseling skills.
  • Punctuality, with an ability to travel locally as required. After hours and weekend work may be required.
  • Must have excellent human relations and interpersonal skills; must be a self-starter and be well-organized; must be a team player.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • The ability to successfully complete a criminal history, and background check.
  • Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance.
  • Must be passionate about women's health, dependable, reliable, organized and empathetic.
Required Education and Experience:
  • Current Arizona Registered Nurse License, Obstetrical Nursing or Labor and Delivery or related field(s) with minimum of 2 years’ experience or Midwife performing under Registered Nurse License.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field(s) with current
  • Sonography certification (Reachout Women’s Center will invest in OB ultrasound training for the right candidate)
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization.
  • BLS for healthcare providers.
  • English and Spanish Speaking preferred.
  • Knowledge in working with low-income and immigrant populations.
  • Ability to manage emergency medical situations.
